The end of summer 2019 is upon us, and one sure sign is the closing of pools and splash pads. But most years, September weather is still warm enough to enjoy days of summer sun and water activities! Luckily, these splash pads still have splash time into September for your little ones to enjoy. Happy splashing!

  • Open daily from 9:00 am – 9:00 pm
  • Water coming up from the ground to delight kids of all ages. Bring buckets or cups to collect and dump water for added fun.
  • There are some picnic tables surrounding the fountains, but not many.

Splash Island is Oak Brook Park District’s outdoor aquatic playground! Admission fee includes access to Oak Brook Park District’s indoor Family Aquatic Center! Plan a pool outing and schedule some fun in the sun that is perfect for all ages. Splash Island features a zero-depth entry pool, slides, interactive features, dumping buckets, jets, and other spray features.

For little ones, there is a splash pad with bubblers and jets, featuring fun aquatic animals. The sundeck includes overhead shade, firepit, and separate covered picnic area.

Lifeguards on duty. Outdoor food and beverages are allowed (glass and alcohol are strictly prohibited).

  • Touch the button on the pump to activate the water for the water trough.
  • Activate the water cannon and the ground misters by simply pressing a button.

Please note that the Burr Ridge Village Center fountain is usually still on in September, but it is not running in 2019.

  • Little fountains spraying from the ground allow kids to run through the water or fill up buckets- whatever they feel like doing after some shopping.
  • Plenty of open green space to lay out a blanket
  • Don’t get your hopes up, it’s not huge and exciting, but kids absolutely love it.
