Picture a beautiful summer day, some tasty food, great live music, parades and carnival rides…  ahhh, summertime family fun awaits! There are loads of kid-friendly summer festivals lined up throughout the western suburbs. Check out our guide for the best summer fests in and around your area! North Riverside Biggest Block Party

North Riverside Parks and Recreation will host its 3rd Annual BIGGEST BLOCK PARTY on DesPlaines on Saturday, July 28th at the Village Commons.  These fabulous festivities will take place from 4pm-9pm.   There will be major fun, great food, kids activities, carnival games, contests, and so much more!  Tons of the fun and activities will be FREE, so be sure to bring out the whole family!  Rock out to live music by Anthem and the one and only, Foolhouse!  Be sure to follow www.facebook.com/NRRecreation for all the details!

Taste of Wheaton (Wheaton)

The Taste of Wheaton has something for everyone! It fills several square blocks in downtown Wheaton with carnival rides, the best local food, live entertainment, family friendly games and crafts, a beer garden, business expo, the Cosley Zoo Run for the Animals 5K/10K and ½ Mile Kids’ Run, art and craft vendors and Art in the Park!

Get into the summer spirit at the carnival on Liberty Street, with rides for young and old. Visit the area for younger children between Cross and Main St. or continue along Liberty to Wheaton Ave. to enjoy games, food and rides for those who are young and young at heart.

La Grange Pet Parade and Carnival (La Grange)

A Day in Our Village (Oak Park)
Sunday, June 3, 2018
Over 100 activity and information booths, as well as local restaurants, set up for this community event in and around Scoville Park. Swimming and games will also be offered at Rehm Park.

Gathering on the Green (Western Springs)
Friday, June 8, 2018 | 5:00 – 10:00 pm

Gathering on the Green is a fun-filled evening of local food, live music, entertainment, and activities for kids… all located on the Tower Green adjacent to the historic water tower in downtown Western Springs.

There will be numerous fun activities for all age groups, including pony rides, a petting zoo, chalk and bubbles, pop-a-shot basketball game, climbing wall, airbrush tattoos, dunk tank, face painting, balloon artist, and bounce houses. Unlimited activity bands are $10 ($5 for children 3 and under).

Enjoy a taste of Western Springs while relaxing at one of the picnic tables, conveniently located between the kids activities and food vendors. There will even be a beer garden set up with tables and umbrellas!
