Celebrating 10 Years… Downers Grove Rotary GroveFest

The largest event in the great community of Downers Grove, Rotary GroveFest transforms the downtown area into a wonderful festival filled with carnival rides for all ages, midway games, an impressive live music line-up, a plethora of delicious food, craft beer tasting with no cover charge, and car show. Each day features hours with “pay-one-price” wristbands for the carnival rides and there are headlining local bands each day of the fest. Not only is it non-stop fun, it also helps to support the Rotary Club of Downers Grove who gives back to many non-profits in Downers Grove and surrounding areas!

The Taste of Wheaton has something for everyone! It fills several square blocks in downtown Wheaton with carnival rides, the best local food, live entertainment, family friendly games and crafts, a beer garden, business expo, the Cosley Zoo Run for the Animals 5K/10K and ½ Mile Zippity Zoo Kids’ Run, art and craft vendors and Art in the Park!

Get into the summer spirit at the carnival on Liberty Street, with rides for young and old. Visit the area for younger children between Cross and Main St. or continue along Liberty to Wheaton Ave. to enjoy games, food and rides for those who are young and young at heart.

Gathering on the Green is a fun-filled evening of local food, live music, entertainment, and activities for kids… all located on the Tower Green in downtown Western Springs.

Come and enjoy numerous fun activities for all age groups, including pony rides, a petting zoo, pop-a-shot basketball game, climbing wall, airbrush tattoos, dunk tank, balloon artist, bounce houses, and new this year: a ninja course, yard games, and a mega slide!

Enjoy a taste of Western Springs while relaxing at one of the picnic tables. There will even be a beer garden set up with tables and umbrellas! The kids activities will take place from noon – 7pm, but the event will continue with entertainment until 10pm.

The DuPage County Fair is celebrating its 65th year on Manchester Road in Wheaton.  Much has changed in DuPage during that time, but the Fair remains the Place “Where Community Gathers.”  Families gather every July to celebrate DuPage County, its rich agricultural roots and its strong commitment to families.  The Fair is a place to explore, compete, learn, eat, be entertained, and have lots of fun!

This year’s Fair will feature “The Butterfly Encounter” where guests can feed and enjoy many varieties of Butterflies.  Many more family friendly exhibits are throughout the Fair, including “STEM-A-Palooza” and a variety of child friendly musical acts.

Bring your favorite 4-legged friend to Central Park and browse local vendors, enjoy free demonstrations, meet the Oak Brook K9 Unit, and take a gorgeous 1-mile stroll with your puppy! Registration fee is $10 and includes 1 dog and 1 owner. Register by August 6 to receive a human Mutt Miler T-shirt and a doggie bandana. All dogs must be leashed and registered for the event with a signed waiver. 50% of the proceeds will go towards the maintenance and upkeep of Oak Brook Park District’s Universal Playground.
