Parks & Playgrounds

Soehrman Park has always been a Kidlist favorite because of the splash pad, open land around the playground, and relaxed atmosphere. It also has nice winding paths that take you along plantings, exercise equipment, and wide open soccer fields. And now it’s even better with a brand new, colorful playground for all ages and abilities!

Soehrman Park Playground

The new playground was completed in July 2023 and features a variety of equipment, including two tall slides for older kids and toddler areas for little ones. The entire playground and splash pad has a soft, rubbery surface to prevent skinned knees and is also colorful to match the cheerful playground equipment.

The ship playground equipment sustained some damage from the tornado this summer, but it is still open and the needed repairs are minor.

There are several inclusive features of the playground at Soehrman Park, including a ground level merry-go-round that is accessible for wheelchairs, wide ramps, communication boards, and an Innova Rocker.

They also incorporated seating in the playground area as well as a rocking dolphin and seahorse to go along with the nautical theme of the ship nearby.

The disc swing and tunnel are great too.

The picnic shelter is a great place to have a snack and relax.

This splash pad is fairly new and has a great rubber surface, dumping buckets, and sprays of all kinds! The water starts by waving your hand over the sensor, so no need to hit or bang it. You can see the water activation sensor on the small purple pole to the right in the photo below.

Shade at splash pads is rare, and these trees surrounding the water area are nice to have for a little respite from the sun.

The exercise equipment is new and a nice place to relax in the shade as well. The shade fabric isn’t always up, but the exercise equipment is always ready for use and plentiful.

Bathrooms

There is a permanent building with restrooms facing the parking lot.
