Let’s face it, the beginning of fall in Chicago still feels a lot like summer. Unfortunately many splash pads close on Labor Day, but we found quite a few splash pads still open in September! So check out this list of where to cool off.

Some of these spots have modified hours after Labor Day, which are noted in the descriptions.

Toucan’s Hideaway, the splash pad within Turtle Splash Water Park in West Chicago is open (and free!) on Tuesdays in September from 10am-6pm. You can access the splash pad by using the path on the west side of the waterpark and restrooms are available inside the ARC Center.

Please note that the splash pad at Maryknoll Park in Glen Ellyn is usually open in September, but it’s closed this year due to maintenance issues.

The splash pad at Longfellow Park in Oak Park is also usually open through the end of September, but the park district is building a new one and it’s not quite ready yet.
