Splash Pads in the Near Western Suburbs of Chicago

Most splash pads and spray parks are opening Memorial Day weekend, with exceptions noted in the comments under each, and we have all the best spots to go, all in one list! This guide to splash pads is brought to you by the Glen Ellyn Park District and is split into two sections: free and fee. Opening dates and descriptions are included for each.

Looking to cool off your kids this summer? Head to the Splash Park at Maryknoll Park in Glen Ellyn. The Splash Park features 12 interactive spray pieces including: water tower, team spray, power launch pod, bell trio, water tunnel, water jelly, and more.

Plan to stick around for the day. In addition to the Splash Park, Maryknoll Park features an adventure playground (complete with a 75’ zipline), Holes & Knolls Mini Golf course, tot playground, and a large open play area. 7. There is a free splash pad at Phillips park in Aurora, as well as a free small zoo, flower gardens and a huge park/playground area. Additionally, the park district has two smaller water parks, (a few slides, kids area, big pool, etc.) one near Phillips park on the east side and splash country on the far west side bordering Sugar Grove.

  8. We love the splash pad at prairie point community park in Oswego! Perfect for 1.5-5 year olds, and free. Lots of different spray features both close to the ground and higher up. It’s also all fenced in which I like and there are bathrooms!
