You are invited to our 6th Annual Volunteer and Donate Event!ย Join us on the afternoon of Sunday, February 23, 2025 at The Village Club of Western Springs to decorate, pack, and donate bags to foster children. We are excited to offer this opportunity to give back, especially because your kids can be involved. Itโs doable for all ages, hands on, and impacts local kids! Itโs wonderful to be able to partner with our site sponsor,ย Corsalus Financialย to provide this way to volunteer with your kids.
All of the decorated and packed duffle bags you put together will be donated to All Our Childrenโs Advocacy Center in Justice, who will be passing them out to kids in tough situations around Chicagoland, such as kids that need support while being relocated for their own safety. You can read more about their work on the AOCAC website.
Canโt wait to see you there and help make a difference together! Keep reading for the event details and how to reserve your spots.

Kidlist Volunteer and Donate Event
February 23, 2025 | 2-3pm or 3-4pm
The Village Club of Western Springs
4221 Lawn Avenue
Western Springs, IL 60558
A huge thanks to The Village Club of Western Springs for letting us use their space for this event. We appreciate their support in being able to provide for local kids in need!

When is the event?
You have two shifts to choose from and each spot you reserve includes a duffle bag and fabric pens to decorate it. You can choose 2-3pm or 3-4pm on Sunday, February 23.
How much does it cost to participate?
We lowered the price this year even more! We wanted the event to be accessible to everyone who wants to participate and also got feedback that shopping for toiletries, toys, and games to fill the bag with your kids was so fun and meaningful! So each ticket is $8 and includes a duffle bag.
With the help of Corsalus Financial, we will provide the fabric pens to decorate the bags and the venue to get everyone together so we can do it as a group. We think it’s great that giving families the option to add more to the bags created an opportunity to talk to your kids about those that need help.

Although adding items to the bags you purchase and donate is not required, we ask that each adult and child attending the event reserves at least one bag so we can make the most of the limited space that we have. These bags are in high demand at All Our Children’s Advocacy Center and the kids that come through their office love them so much! We want to be able to provide as many as we can.
How will you decorate the bags?
We will have fabric markers for you at the event so you and your children can draw and color on the bags without worrying about the mess.

What will you be packing in the bags?
The duffle bags themselves are a gift to kids that come through All Our Children’s Advocacy Center because most only have plastic grocery bags or garbage bags to pack their personal items, but if you would like to bring items like toiletries, games, and toys to put in the bags, that would be great! You will place the items in the bag after decorating it.
Can you put other things in the bag?
Yes! You are welcome to purchase additional items for the bags. Shopping with your kids for the foster kids before attending the event is a great way to spend time together and talk about donating to provide some happiness for kids in need. We put together an Amazon Storefront to give you ideas. You can choose to buy items from our storefront, which supports Kidlist through affiliate links, or use the ideas to go shopping with your kids.

Do you need to bring anything to the event?
Please know that purchasing additional items for the duffle bags is optional, so it is not required to bring anything to the event. We will provide fabric markers to draw on the bags. The event is designed so all you need to do is purchase the bags and show up to participate. We will have your name at the check-in table.
Where do you park when arriving at The Village Club?
You are welcome to park in the Grand Avenue Community Center parking lot across the street and there is also plenty of street parking.

Is All Our Children’s Advocacy Center a 501c3 organization?
Yes! All of the duffle bags and packed items are going directly to AOCAC and you will receive a copy of their 501(c)(3) letter for tax purposes in the ticket confirmation email.
Thank you, Corsalus Financial
Corsalus Financial is providing the decorating materials, as well as paying for shipping of the materials and credit card processing fees so you will not have any added costs. We are excited about partnering with them for this event and love their desire to serve and be a valuable resource for local families!

Reserve Your Spots
Simply select which shift you would like to attend and it will take you through the ordering process. *I know I’m late but I am a classroom teacher and my class would like to do two bags. Was wondering if by any chance you ordered two extra? Thanks,
Bethany
Thanks for your interest! I had to put the order in by the end of the day on Monday, January 25 to make sure the materials arrive in time for pickup. Sorry you missed it this time!
