Please be sure to check the websites for details and information on any admission fees or updated dates and times. Many resales also have rules about whether or not strollers and children are allowed, so plan accordingly.

If you aren’t quite ready this fall, you can always plan ahead for these sales next spring! Here’s the information from last resale season so you have a heads up on what’s coming.

Previous Sales No Longer Operating

While these organizations have not officially announced their plans to close, they have not hosted a resale in over a year: Highlands Elementary Clothing Resale in Naperville, Rhea Lana’s of Schaumburg, and Darien Woman’s Club Kid’s Clothing Resale.

These brick-and-mortar resale and consignment shops are open year-round, and a great way to find new-to-you items.

Note: Once Upon a Child in Bolingbrook and Charlie and Grace Children’s Consignment Boutique in Brookfield have closed.

What is the difference between resale and consignment?

At a resale, places pay you for your items, and then resell them. At consignment sales, sellers bring their items to be sold, and only receive a profit for what actually sells, with the consignment company taking a portion of this profit.

Do I have to sell items in order to shop?

While there is no requirement to sell, most pop-up consignment sales offer pre-sale shopping hours for consignors. Clear out some items your children are no longer using and take advantage of the early access to great deals.

What should I bring?

Reusable grocery bags or laundry baskets are a good way to carry items around. While larger consignment sales may have shopping carts, most will not.

Can my children come shopping with me?

Some consignment sales may allow younger visitors, while others restrict access at certain times. It’s a good idea to look through the details before going to make sure you’ve arranged childcare if it’s needed.
