Open Position: Content Contributor
Are you involved in your community, active with your kids, and have a passion for your family? Being a Content Contributor is a great opportunity for you to join in providing ideas for local families, and the position allows you to work at any time of the day or night right from your home.
Key qualities for Content Contributors:
Being detail oriented and adhering to deadlines is a must. Good writing skills, being connected and involved in your community, and having a pulse on whatโs going on in the western suburbs is also great. You do not need to have professional writing experience, but need to know the rules of grammar and have a knack for organizing information into an easy-to-read format. Thinking outside the box is helpful as we are always trying to reimagine content and ideas to make the site better. You should be prepared to take and/or use your own photographs to put a personal touch on articles you author and call businesses to confirm information if it isn’t available on their website or seems outdated.
For the most part, you will be choosing what you would like to write about from a list of upcoming topics, but content ideas are welcomed and encouraged. The majority of the writing opportunities are paid, and some are in exchange for tickets or admission to various events and performances.
The Kidlist team has in-person meetings once per quarter, members of the team attend press invites and can choose which events and activities they are interested in attending, and writing assignments are done from home at your convenience as long as deadlines are met.
