Pumpkin Smash Recycling Event
November 2, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
FreeEach year, the Village partners with SCARCE to provide pumpkin composting after Halloween. The Pumpkin Smash is a fun way to divert pumpkins from landfills by providing drop off locations for Jack-o-lanterns to be composted. *
This year the Pumpkin Smash will be held on Saturday, November 2, from 9 am – noon, at the Bensenville Village Hall main parking lot on Addison, at 12 S Center Street.
*Pumpkins must be contaminant-free. Only pumpkins themselves can be composted. This means NO candles; yarn; stickers; googly eyes; tape; non-biodegradable materials; plastic or metal of any kind. Acrylic paint is acceptable, but no oil-based paint or permanent marker is allowed.
