Help care for natural areas in your community parks. Activities may include removal of non-native plants, picking up trash, trail maintenance, collecting seeds, and planting trees and flowers. Please bring your own work gloves and a water bottle. We will follow health guidelines, maintain distances, and limit participation to a maximum of 8 volunteers as allowed under Phase 3 of the Restore Illinois Plan. Frederick Law Olmsted designed the parks in Riverside to provide changing vistas for both pedestrians & vehicles. His plan can be better realized by reducing shrub overgrowth, eliminating weeds & opening up the river view. Join volunteers as they tame, and then maintain the public parks of Riverside. All workdays are scheduled for Saturdays from 9am-12pm. Look for the Riverside Public Works dump truck. Come for an hour or three, whatever your schedule allows. Supervised children are welcome.
