The Western Springs Business Association (WSBA) will be holding its annual Gathering on the Green family event on Friday, June 8, 2018 at the Tower Green in downtown Western Springs from 5-10pm!
Gathering on the Green is a signature event in Western Springs and is a fun-filled evening of food, beverages, live music, entertainment, and activities for kids… all located on the Tower Green adjacent to the historic water tower in the downtown section of the village.
There will be numerous fun activities for all age groups, including pony rides, a petting zoo, climbing wall, pop-a-shot basketball, dunk tank, airbrush tattoos, face painting, and bounce houses for different age groups. The Kidlist team will be there to host an activity area with chalk and bubbles too, so come hang out with us!
Local food and restaurant booths include Salty Fig, Solstice, Casey’s, Smallcakes, BB’s Baby Donuts, Kirschbaums, Tropical Sno, Davanti, Hillgrove Tap, Vie, Salerno’s and Western Springs Fruit Store. Your family can enjoy a taste of Western Springs while relaxing at one of the picnic tables, conveniently located between the kids activities and food vendors. There will even be a beer garden set up with tables and umbrellas!
Also highlighted are many of our association’s businesses and local organizations that set up displays, give away promotional items and have demonstrations.
Live entertainment starts at 5pm. The evening line-up includes Frankie Ace and his wonderful comedy magic show, the always popular Trinity Irish Dancers and two fantastic house bands featuring local young musicians from the School of Rock.
The closing act is the Bono Bros Band featuring Rob & Jim Bonaccorsi of Freddy Jones Band, Nick Kitsos (Bodeans and Poi Dog Pondering), Fran Banish (Kofi Baker Band, Robin Ford, and Keb Mo), Chris “Hambone” Cameron (Freddy Jones Band and Sonya Dadda) and Tom Albanese of The Willie Hayes Blues Band.
Activity wristbands for kids to participate in unlimited activity venues will be sold at the cost of $10 for kids over 3 years of age and $5 for kid 3 years and younger. All food will be sold for cash; wine and beer will be available for purchase with tickets.
