Unity Rising: “Celebrating Freedom, Heritage, and Community Empowerment”

Bronzeville, the historic heart of African American culture in Chicago, is excited to extend a warm invitation to members of the media and beyond to join us for our 2024 Juneteenth Celebration: Unity Rising, deemed the largest celebration in Bronzeville, “Celebrating Freedom, Heritage, and Community Empowerment,” hosted by The Black Star Project, My Block My Hood My City, The Bud Billiken Parade, The Defender Charities, IL State Representative Kam Buckners Office and The Absolutely Anything Essential Gift Shop, promises to be a vibrant and inspiring gathering that honors our shared history while looking towards a brighter future.

For the 4th year, this family friendly event is not just a commemoration; it’s a testament to the resilience and strength of our community. As we come together to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Bronzeville, we invite the media, local residents and tourists alike to capture and share the stories of unity, hope, and empowerment that define this event, adorning the historic corridor of 35th and Dr. Martin King Drive through the Phillip Jackson Parkway on Saturday June 15, 2024, from 11 am to 5 pm.
