The entire community is invited to join in Oak Park’s celebration of Juneteenth. The 2023 festivities will include a special flag-raising ceremony on and a Juneteenth parade and community cookout organized by community members and co-sponsored by the Village:
Juneteenth flag-raising ceremony
6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 14

Oak Park’s Juneteenth festivities begin with a flag-raising ceremony from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14 in the courtyard at Village Hall, 123 Madison. The free event will include speakers, food and more.
Juneteenth parade and community cookout
11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, June 18
Oak Park’s Juneteenth celebration culminates with a parade and community cookout on Sunday, June 18. The parade steps off at 11 a.m. from Longfellow Park near Jackson Boulevard and will march north on Ridgeland Avenue to Augusta Street. Community groups and organizations are invited to participate in the parade, which is being organized by members of the community.
