CICFF40 Opening Night

November 3, 2023, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join FACETS family and friends to kick off the 40th Annual Chicago International Children’s Film Festival (CICFF40). The largest and longest running children’s film festival in the United States, Opening Night will feature a SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE by Academy Award winning filmmaker, Matthew Cherry (Hair Love, Young Love), who will be honored for his contributions to the field of children’s films.

Guests can walk the red carpet, share some Instagram-able moments, imbibe in cash bar, and enjoy a delectable array of complimentary deserts, entertainment, and conversation before the screening at 7:00 pm. The reception will include live music performed by the Merit School of Music.

Films include highly anticipated festival shorts, multiple premieres, and a celebration of diverse stories for and about children that will inspire audiences to discover more about themselves and the world around them.

CICFF40 Opening Night takes place at the Chicago History Museum, the primary destination for learning, inspiration, and civic engagement.
