Chinese New Year Celebration

February 3, 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Free

Let’s celebrate the Year of the Dragon! Hosted by District 204 students, activities will include lantern-making, calligraphy, chopsticks racing, a documentary, and more. Ages 6+.

Please come and enjoy the Chinese New Year Celebration activities hosted by IPSD District 204 high schools’ Chinese Honor Societies. Caregivers will also enjoy a documentary film titled About Dear Corky (2022) sponsored by CAWA. The film pays tribute to the late legendary Chinese-American photographer Corky Lee, a New York native who had a strong sense of social justice and had taken over a hundred thousand photos about his hometown and Asian American communities around the country during his lifetime. The film taught us about the man behind the camera and the cause he fought for throughout his life.
