Wow. This park is amazing! Heritage Park is the flagship park of Homer Glen. It sits on 103 acres and is located behind Village Hall. Heritage Park was completed in 2020 and completely blew me away. Since it’s situated on so much land, it’s peaceful and has enough space for tons of fun.
The playground, ninja park, and sports area of this park are called The Active Core, which includes a challenge course, nature play area, fitness stations, two tennis courts, two pickleball courts, and two sand volleyball courts. During the winter holiday season, stroll through the Active Core to enjoy a light display each evening through the end of December.

What will you find at Heritage Park? Pretty much everything! Your kids are going to love the ninja challenge course, nature playground, disc swing, wide range of playground equipment, musical instruments and inclusive components.
It’s a great gathering place with a large gazebo, tables and chairs, winding paths, and plenty of parking. There are also dedicated pickleball courts, tennis courts, and sand volleyball. The nature-lover in me also enjoys the sensory garden, leaves stamped in sidewalk, and leaf identification boards for your very own leaf hunt.

Homer Glen Nature Playground
This is one of the largest nature playgrounds that we have seen in the suburbs. There are so many opportunities to climb, balance, and play!
The nature area is conveniently located right next to the playground equipment.
Heritage Park in Homer Glen has a full bucket seat swing, two baby swings, and a disc swing in addition to two traditional swings.
The musical instrument area can easily be missed because it’s on the other side of the gazebo from the playground, but it offers a peaceful escape so your kids can get away from the crowd and play some music on various chimes and xylophones.
The Ninja Park at Heritage Park
This challenge course is huge. It has everything from ropes to boards to test the strength of every muscle group.
They even thought about the spectators at Heritage Park. You can sit on a bench in the shade while your kids tackle the course. Or they can rest and watch you master it!
Seating Area at Heritage Park
What a beautiful gazebo. We look forward to packing a lunch and eating it together in this area between playing.
