Bounce houses, slides, and obstacle courses built for hours of nonstop energy
If you’ve got a kid who bounces off the walls (literally or figuratively), 2 Hours of Freedom in Crystal Lake gives them a place to do exactly that. McHenry County’s newest and largest indoor inflatable playground opened its doors in late 2025 and is becoming a go-to spot for burning off energy no matter the weather outside.
The inflatable structure just keeps going and going, and we had so much fun! Here’s what you need to know before heading over, including cost, age range, and what makes it worth the trip.

What’s Inside
This isn’t just one bounce house, it’s a sprawling inflatable playground packed with multiple slides, warped walls to climb, an inflatable basketball court with soft balls, giant inflatable balls to leap between, a full obstacle course, and a rotating dodge arm to test your reflexes. There’s enough packed in here to keep kids entertained well past the standard attention span.
Age Recommendations
There’s a dedicated toddler area, so little ones have their own space to play safely while older kids tackle the bigger inflatables and obstacle course. That makes it a solid option for families with a range of ages, since everyone gets a spot that fits their energy level and skill, and is ideal for kids 3-11 years old.
Cost to Play
2 Hours of Freedom offers three ticket options depending on how long you want to stay:
- 90 Minutes: $20
- 2 Hours of Freedom: $25
- All Day Play: $30
Grip socks (“Freedom Socks”) are required for entry and cost an additional $3.65 per pair plus tax if you don’t already have your own.
Membership Options
For families who plan to make this a regular stop, 2 Hours of Freedom offers three membership tiers:
- Fun Membership ($28/month): 90 minutes of play any day of the week, plus 10% off parties and merch, 25% off special events, and a pair of Freedom Socks at sign-up.
- Freedom Membership ($32/month): Unlimited weekday play, 2 hours on weekends, 15% off parties and merch, 50% off special events, a Freedom Socks pair, and a monthly Buddy Pass.
- Family Fun Membership ($108/month, includes 4 family members): Unlimited weekday play, 2 hours on weekends, 15% off parties, 20% off merch, free access to special events, Freedom Socks for every family member, and two monthly Buddy Passes. Additional family members can be added for $27/month.
All memberships require a minimum 3-month commitment and automatically renew until cancelled, and are only valid at the Crystal Lake location.
Birthday Parties
With three private party rooms on site, 2 Hours of Freedom is also a solid option for a birthday celebration. Package options include:
- Starfish Package: $322 for up to 10 children and 10 adults
- Palm Tree Package: $372 for up to 10 children and 10 adults
- Hawaii Package: $422 for up to 10 children and 10 adults
- Infinity of the Ocean: $1,482 for up to 25 children and 25 adults
Good to Know
- Hours generally run 9am–8pm weekdays and 9am–9pm weekends, though hours can shift for special events, so it’s worth double-checking before you go
- Plenty of parking, plus room inside to park strollers
- Shoes come off before entering the play area. Cubbies are provided, and you’ll stop at the front counter to fill out waivers and pay before heading in
- Outside food is allowed, and they also have various snacks and drinks for purchase (and pizza slices on the weekends!)
- Don’t forget grippy socks! If you don’t have any, they are under $4 for a pair and you can save them for next time
