Indoor Places to GoIndoor Play

Slick City welcomes both kids and parents to towering slides that twist, turn and drop. Located in North Aurora, this indoor amusement center opens its doors on October 4, 2024, just in time for cold, Chicago winters. Read below about all the thrills and excitement you’ll find at this new entertainment center with open play.

Features of Slick City

Slide Park

The main attractions at Slick City are, of course, the slides. Visitors will ride down a variety of slides including big dips, little dips, waves, and zig zags and a half-pipe. Think of it as a water park without the water. On every slide, riders are expected to lay on a mat, face first, as they make their way to the landing pads at bottom. The steepness and style vary by slide, leaving a nice variety for the more timid riders or adrenaline enthusiasts.

Zipline and Swings

In the center of the play area is a large landing pad, which is the perfect spot to fall after swinging on a traditional or bar swing. Next to that, children can also ride across an enclosed zipline.

Freestyle and Sport Air Courts

To take a break from all the sliding, there are two large sport courts with basketball hoops. There is also a freestyle court, with a handful of dodgeballs in this space.

Tot Area

For guests 47 inches and under, a designated play space is along the back wall. Here you’ll find a large climbing structure with foam mats and smaller slides. There is also a climbing sphere made out of knit fabrics.

Arcade

Near the front entrance is a small arcade and lockers for guests to store their personal items. Both of these require a fee to use.

Food

Outdoor food is not allowed at Slick City, but there is a concessions area to purchase items. There are also a variety of restaurants that are within a 5-10 minute drive. Chicago Premium Outlets mall is 10 minutes east of Slick City, and is a hub of restaurants and and retail shops.

Bathrooms

There are standard restroom facilities at Slick City, with changing tables included.

Hours

Slick City is open Mondays through Wednesdays from 1:00pm – 8:30pm and closed Thursdays. It reopens Fridays from 11:00am – 10:00pm, Saturdays from 10:00am – 11:00pm, and Sundays from 11:00am – 8:30pm. These times are valid as of their opening on October 4, 2024. Check their website for holiday hours or schedule changes.

Prices

Admission can be purchased for 90 minutes, which costs $25.99, or 120 minutes, which costs $30.99. Visitors ages 3 and under will be charged $13.99 or $16.99, depending on the length of their stay. 5 or 10-visit passes as well as a 30-day pass can also be purchased. All participants will also need to purchase CitySocks, which are $4.99 per pair. These prices were updated in October 2024 and subject to change.

Recommended Ages for Slick City

We visited with an 11, 9, and 5 year old. I highly recommend Slick City for the older two. With the majority of attractions being slides, I thought there was a chance they could lose interest quickly. That definitely wasn’t the case. They loved taking continuous runs down the variety of slides. My 5-year old, who is more risk-averse than his peers, was a bit intimidated by some of the larger slides, but still enjoyed his time.

Another thing to consider is the maturity of your child. On every slide, your child is expected to lay on their belly face first, stay on the mat, keep their elbows tucked, and hold the handles as they go down safely. Keeping these safety guidelines in mind, you know your child best. While Slick City is designed for maximum fun, it’s important to ensure a safe experience for everyone, especially younger guests.

Best Days/Times To Go

As this space is more geared towards older children, days off school, weekends and evenings will be more crowded. Other Slick City locations offer special hours for homeschool groups, family deals and more promotions. Keep an eye on the North Aurora location’s calendar for future offerings.

Discounts for Slick City

There are no coupons currently being offered, but the pricing portion of their website will be the place to find any in the future.
