Unique Igloo and Dome Dining Experiences in Chicago’s West Suburbs

Winter does not stop Chicagoans from dining outdoors anymore! Restaurants have created igloo and pod outdoor dining experiences to embrace the winter weather, without having to eat inside. Igloo dining gives families the opportunities to eat together while being secluded from other diners. Pods and igloos do require reservations, so make sure to call ahead. You may also want ask how long igloos are cleaned and aired out in between reservations and bring a blanket if you get cold easily. (And of course, keep your reservation — restaurants are depending on keeping their igloos full.) Happy dining!

  1. How about Cook County?

  2. Thank you for this, it is amazing!! 2 things to add though. 1. I drove my family out to features (naperville) last night, and was very disappointed to see that it is not individual dining. There are 3 train cars, that are separate, but each one has 6-8ish tables inside. Not covid-safe in my opinion, and certainly not in the category of others on this list.

    2. Stray Hen Cafe in Elmhurst has added igloos, it is a great breakfast restaurant, with cocktails, and right on the train tracks so kids can be entertained by the trains.
