Organizations across the western suburbs have pulled out all the stops to ensure you and your little goblins have a spook-tacular time. Creep through haunted forests, carve pumpkins, and enjoy all the treats you can find. Be sure to plan ahead, because many of these events require prior registration, and some fill up every year. Fall Festival (Lemont )

Bring your blanket to the amphitheater for this Halloween classic. Concessions available to buy.

Pumpkin Flotilla (Westmont)

Pumpkin carving, spooky stories, and watching the pumpkins float at the Twin Lakes.

Zombie Candy Hunt (La Grange )

Kids can wear their costumes and bring a flashlight and their own container to collect treats at this spooky hunt.

Pumpkin Swim (Oak Brook)
October 8, 2021 | 6 pm
Kids can swim to search for candy capsules filled with prizes. There will also be activities on deck throughout the night.

Halloween Hoot ‘n Howl (River Forest)

Activities include live music, pumpkin painting, Boo Bingo, lantern making, s’mores around the bonfire, and more.

Trick or Treat Trail (Lemont)

Kids can wear their Halloween costumes and bring a trick-or-treating bag to this event. All children must pre-register for a time slot.

Mummy Mile Fun Run (St. Charles)

Eggtober (Oak Brook)
October 11 – 29, 2021 (Only for Oak Brook residents)
Registration required. This year, the Oak Brook Park District will fill two dozen Halloween eggs, drop off, and hide them in your front yard during the day throughout the month of October.

11th annual Glass Pumpkin Patch (Lisle)
October 13-17 , 2021 at 10 am – 5 pm
The annual Glass Pumpkin Patch will feature more than 6,000 hand-blown glass pumpkins and other autumnal-themed designs. New this year: a Halloween tent!

Zombie Survival Night (Burr Ridge)

Dress up in your costumes and come and take a SPOOKY walk in the park! This 1/2 mile walk in the woods will get you in the Halloween spirit! Play games and enjoy crafts before making your way to the trick or treat trail! Meet witches, ghosts, and other spooky characters as you make your way through the woods while trick or treating! At the end of your walk, board the Haunted Wagon for a leisurely ride to the graveyard where you get to pick out your very own pumpkin (pumpkins reserved for children only).

Participants will hop on a wagon ride that takes them down Diane Main Park through the terrifying woods path scenes. Merry Monsters Matinee Performance will run for younger children.

Kids can dress in their Halloween costume for pumpkin decorating, inflatables, and entertainment.

Halloween House Tour (Downers Grove)

Come see the house decorated for Halloween, take a tour, and learn about what would have been done to celebrate the holiday when people lived in the Victorian Blodgett House. All children must register and be accompanied by a registered adult.

Egg-tober (Oakbrook)

Oakbrook Terrace Park District will be filling eggs and hiding them in your own front yard. All eggs will be filled with peanut allergy friendly candy.

Take a walk along the spook trail through Ackerman Woods and enjoy Halloween-themed games. Refreshments will be available for purchase from local vendors. The trail will be less scary from 4pm-6pm and will be geared for older children from 6pm-8pm on Thursday and 6pm- 9pm on Friday.

Spooktacular Halloween Stroll at Cosley Zoo (Wheaton)

Halloween House Decorating Contest (Clarendon Hills)

Visit Clarendon Hill’s finest Halloween houses. Entries are due by the 21st, and will officially be judged on the 22nd.

Hocus Pocus Movie Night (Lemont)

Main Street Cemetery Flashlight Tour (Downers Grove)

See the Main Street Cemetery in a spookier light! With a flashlight in hand, learn about the happy and tragic lives of the Downers Grove residents who are buried there and some local ghost stories.

Family scarecrow fest with free fall nature family fun including a fun run. Games, raffles, and a walk along the scarecrow trail. Ages 1-4 participate in a 100 meter dash from 2-2:45 p.m. and ages 5-8 participate in a 200 meter dash from 3-3:45 p.m.
