Indoor Places to GoIndoor Play

At We Rock the Spectrum, children of all ages and abilities are encouraged to play, learn, explore, and have fun. Opening its doors this weekend, We Rock the Spectrum’s newest location in the Chicago area can be found in southwest Naperville. Below you’ll find all the details about this welcoming space and the programming being offered by owners Brad and Maureen Hatfield.

Features of the We Rock the Spectrum in Naperville

When first entering the play area, visitors will notice a pretend play area with a market, doctor checkup station, foam climbing mats, and a variety of other toys generally geared towards toddler play. This area is divided with a small fence to help children and adults monitor the traffic of both big and little kids.

The main play area is filled with a variety of swings, including a pod swing and zip slider that lands in crash pillows. Jump in a trampoline, climb across monkey bars, or create a musical masterpiece on the piano mat.

Visitors will also find a creative space filled with sensory tables, books, magnets, and art supplies. Like most of the gym, activities in this area will rotate frequently to give unique experiences during visits.

To round out the play space, guests will find a calming room perfect for visitors who need a break. Dimmed lights, sequin flip art, a large popit, books, and flexibility seating fill this small room towards the back of We Rock the Spectrum with sensory-friendly activities.

Note: There is a section at the front of the gym with toys and books for purchase. These items range from costumes, imaginative play, sensory and STEM kits, and so much more. While a great way to support this small business, we wanted to give a warning so you can be prepared to say yes or no before your arrival.

Food

Guests are welcome to bring their own food, as no food or drinks are sold on site. There are a handful of restaurants nearby at the corner of 111th Street and Route 59, as well as a Caputo’s Fresh Market.

Bathrooms

There is one individual bathroom at the back of We Rock the Spectrum for all guests. Inside, you’ll also find a changing table and automatic hand dryer.

We Rock the Spectrum Naperville is hosting a Grand Opening celebration on Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 10:00am – 5:00pm. Recommended Ages for We Rock the Spectrum

This is a truly a space for all to play. With a designated toddler area and sensory tables, as well as larger zipline, and trampoline, you will find something your child of any age will enjoy. Please keep in mind that the facility is generally designed for children ages 12 and under, as certain swings have a weight capacity of 150 lbs. All are welcome at We Rock the Spectrum.

Best Days/Times To Go

As is the case with many indoor facilities, weekdays could be less crowded than weekends. At these types of play places, we usually see that afternoon (naptime) hours tend to be a bit quieter as well. We recommend you check their Facebook page for any changes to their schedule, especially on weekends when private parties could be planned.
