If you’re looking for a place to expel all your child’s energy, we have the spot for you. The Playroom at Naperville Yard has space to run, and jump, and climb. And then do it again and again.
Naperville Yard, which is an indoor sports facility, opens their space to families during the week for open play. Read below about details on visiting this great spot in the western suburbs.
Features of The Playroom at Naperville Yard
The Playroom at Naperville Yard is huge, making it appealing to both big and little children. One of the main features of the space is the Play Tower, which is filled with ramps, stairs, slides, and foam mats. The area outside of the tower is home to a few smaller foam mats, a play house, teeter totter, and ride-on cars.
When you’re ready for a change of scenery, directly behind the glass you’ll find two large indoor soccer fields. Half of this area is home to three or four large bounce houses.
There is usually a bin of sports balls to use if you prefer to stay in the open field space.
Guests have access to all of these spaces during a visit to Naperville Yard’s playroom. There are open doors between the Play Tower area and the soccer fields, so children can go back and forth with ease.
Please note: socks are required for all guests during their time playing at The Playroom.
Food
Food and drinks are not allowed in the play areas at Naperville Yard. There is no cafe within Naperville Yard, but there are a few vending machines. Naperville Yard is located very close to Freedom Commons, a commercial area populated with restaurants including Billy Bricks, Jasonβs Deli, and Buttermilk.
Bathrooms
There are restrooms just outside the play area. Bathrooms are equipped with changing tables.
Hours
The Playroom is available for open play Mondays through Fridays, from 10:00am – 2:00pm. Check their website for holiday hours and schedule changes. They tend to close Open Play during extended times off of school (i.e. spring break), as they also run day camps for children.
Prices
Visitors over the age of 1 year old are $10 per visit. Guests are able to purchase a punchcard for $45, which includes 5 visits. Pricing was updated in February 2024 and subject to change.
Recommended Ages for Visiting Naperville Yard
We have visited Naperville Yard for many years, and honestly, my children have loved it at all ages. If your child is mobile and steady on their feet, they will have fun running around to the different areas at Naperville Yard. My 10-year old still enjoys it nearly as much as she did when she was a toddler. My 5-year old could spend hours there, only stopping to take a quick snack or water break.
Best Days/Times To Go to Naperville Yard
During all of our visits, the only time we have felt it was crowded is when school is not in session. The morning (pre-nap) time tends to see more visitors, while it gets quieter in the afternoons. With a space as large as Naperville Yard, you often feel like you have space to yourself, even with other guests there.
Accessibility
The Playroom is on the second floor of Naperville Yard, which can be accessed by an elevator. Wheelchairs will all be able to enter the playing field or play tower rooms, but the actual tower is not accessible.
Discounts for The Playroom at Naperville Yard
There are no generally no discounts offered, but as mentioned above in pricing, punchcards can be purchased for a discounted rate if you plan to visit more than once.
