We’re Hiring: Experiential Contributors
Are you the friend who’s always found the new splash pad before anyone else, or already knows which weekend the fall farm opens? Kidlist is looking for a few more people who love finding fun stuff for families to do around the west and northwest suburbs, and want to help other families find it too.
We’re especially hoping to hear from people based in the near west suburbs, such as La Grange, Western Springs, and Oak Park, as well as the northwest suburbs like Arlington Heights, Schaumburg, Palatine, and Mount Prospect.
What you’ll do:
- Keep an eye out for new and upcoming spots for families and kids
- Visit places, then write up honest, first hand notes on what to expect, including age ranges, features, accessibility, and insider tips
- Capture photos and vertical video during outings for Kidlist’s website, social, and newsletter
- Be in tune with your local parenting community: what’s opening, what people are buzzing about, what they want to know
- Check in with the team regularly and share your photos and videos, even on outings that don’t turn into a full write-up
You are:
- Someone who’s already out and about with kids, or just genuinely enjoys checking out new places
- Detail-oriented, with good instincts for what other parents actually want to know
- Comfortable writing clear, honest notes
- Good with a smartphone camera for photos and vertical video
- Self-motivated and reliable, good at managing your own time
- Willing to drive a bit for a place worth sharing
How it works:
- You will be paid hourly for your time researching new spots and writing up notes.
- We cover admission and parking for media visits and you can have a good time with your kids while taking photos and videos.
- Part-time, independent contractor, remote and flexible: work during nap time, after school pickup, whenever works for you.
This job application will close on September 8, 2026.
