Randhurst Village in Mount Prospect is home to the newest interactive gaming experience in the suburbs, Time Mission. With over 25 different portals, guests are invited to collect points by completing tasks that test your problem-solving, teamwork, and coordination. This spot is great for friends, families, or team-building groups, offering quick puzzles that strike the perfect balance between physical and mental challenge.
We were invited to check out this new experience! Read below to find out more about what to know about your visit and what you’ll find at Time Mission once you’re there.

Features of Time Mission
At Time Mission, teams of 2-5 players are invited to compete in social gaming challenges. If more than 5 players are in your party, you will be split into smaller groups. When you first arrive, and after you sign your participation waivers, your team will watch a brief introductory video explaining that Time Machine’s energy core has been lost, and your team must earn points to replenish it.

There are over 25 portals, each with its own activity. Each mission is rated for four different skill sets: Brain, Strength, Coordination and Speed. When you decide which portal to enter, some may also ask you to select a difficulty level of easy, medium, or hard. To enter the portals, one member of your party will need to scan their wristband. You will have a few seconds to enter the room, and then your 3-minute timer will begin.
All tasks are completed after one of three things: you lost or did something incorrectly, you ran out of time, or you reached 100 points. These points are tracked on the scoreboards throughout the hallway, with an assigned team name displayed. Since all of our party was in the same group, we noticed the scores, but weren’t actively tracking them.

One thing we really liked was the symbols above each door turned yellow if they were occupied, and the timer on the screen told us how much time the other party had left. If we wanted to use a room, we knew how long we’d have to wait (which was never longer than 3 minutes) or if we should come back.

During our time at Time Mission, we loved the balance between active challenges, and those that were more puzzle-based. The Portal Discovery section of their website has a picture and a brief description of each room.

While you’d likely be fine wearing anything, we’d recommend wearing comfortable clothes and gym shoes, as you move around quite a bit during your time within the rooms. There are lockers to put your personal items before you begin so you don’t have to worry about purses or coats.

Along with small group play, Time Mission offers birthday parties, youth group outings, and more.
Food
There are no food and drinks sold on the premises, and all food and drinks that are brought in must be secured in the lockers before participating. If you are looking to eat before or after your game sessions, there is a plethora of options in Randhurst Village. Some of our family-friendly favorites are McAlister’s Deli, MOD Pizza, and Buffalo Wild Wings.
Bathrooms
There are both mens and womens restrooms at the very end of the hallway. Each is an individual restroom, with a changing table. There is also a water fountain on the wall between them.

Time Mission is open Mondays through Thursdays from 12:00pm – 9:00pm, Fridays 12:00pm to midnight, Saturdays 10:00am to midnight, and Sundays 10:00am – 8:00pm. Hours are valid as of December 9, 2025 and are subject to change.

Prices
Entry to Time Mission is paid by 30-minute increments, starting with a 1-hour play session. Admission begins at $34.95 per person. There are discounted rates for groups of 8 people or more. This pricing is valid as of December 9, 2025, and is subject to change. More details, including the pricing breakdown, can be found on their website.
Recommended Ages
Time Mission recommends visitors from ages 6 to 106. In our group, we had 2 adults and 3 children, ages 7, 10 and 12. Our 7-year old could participate in nearly all of the activities, although a few went over his head, or he needed to be a bit taller to reach. Our 12 and 10 year old had a blast here. There were things that each of them considered to be their strengths, and they found themselves working together to accomplish each room’s goal. We spent about 90 minutes playing the games, and really feel like we could have stayed longer.

Best Days/Times To Go
While you’re welcome to drop-in and reserve a play session at any time as space allows, we recommend booking online in advance to ensure availability at the time you want. When we visited, there were approximately 10 other groups playing, but we never had to wait for an available room.
Accessibility
The sounds effects and music were louder in some of the rooms, as well as some with flashing or bright lights. If you or your child are sensitive to this, we’d recommend bringing noise-canceling headphones to help you better enjoy your time in the rooms.
