Morning Play Stop
This awesome spot has something for everyone: a Butterfly Garden, Nature Playground, Music Garden and Splash Pad–and yes, even restrooms.
Lunch with a Twist
Pack a lunch and enjoy it at one of the shady picnic tables from the morning play stop, or get in the car and head to this kid-friendly burger place. The Kid’s Crazy Mac is wildly creative and sure to please even the pickiest of eaters. Parking off 3rd Street is a breeze during the day, there is a parking garage near the Metra Station if you cannot find street parking.
Watch Trains
The lunch spot is directly across the Metra Station, so if you have a train lover be sure to leave some time to watch the trains.
Midday Creativity or Exploration
Choose between:
- Checking out the popular little shops off 3rd Street. A lot of small businesses are housed in historical buildings off the main street, be sure to keep an eye out for them.
- Visit the rotating children’s exhibits in this storefront right off 3rd Street. Currently there is a ‘Little Chef’s exhibit where children can have a hands-on experience and behind the scenes look at a restaurant.
Sweet Treat
Who doesn’t LOVE chocolate? This chic cafe has lattes, gelato, and plenty of chocolate goodies to choose from. Be sure to check out the life-sized chocolate sculptures all around the cafe. One of our favorites is the cookie monster gelato.
Bonus: A Final Spot to Get the Wiggles Out
Take a short stroll (0.4 miles) or drive to check out the Geneva Dam at this local park. Let the kids run some of their energy off in the lawn before getting in the car to head back home after an awesome day.
