To kick off the Bloomingdale Park District’s 60th Anniversary, they have installed a new playground and park, Stratford Park.
They are kicking off the park opening on May 4, 2024 from 11:00am – 1:00pm. The public are welcome to join the “May the Fourth Be With You: A Galactic 60th Anniversary Celebration“. The ribbon cutting begins promptly at 11:00am, followed by activities and refreshments while supplies last.
Stratford Park has a brand-new playground with slides and swings for younger children and a challenge course for older kids. The majority of the playground was designed for ages 5+.
The playground is located behind Stratford Middle School, so the designers used the space and created a new outdoor classroom. There is now a covered picnic shelter and table to enjoy your lunch or classwork.
Stratford Park also offers a trail loop, half court basketball, and fitness stations around the path. They also built a baggo course, but be sure to bring your own bags.
