Picture this: you’re sitting in a comfy chair, drinking a hot cup of coffee, while your children play happily around you. Sounds like a dream, right? It’s not a dream, Playroom Cafe Two is opening on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 in Naperville! It’s a beautiful new cafe where children can explore and have fun as their parents enjoy a delicious treat nearby.
Maggie opened her first location, Playroom Cafe in Mount Prospect, when she saw a need for spaces where children could happily play as their parents relaxed and enjoyed themselves, too. As a former nurse and mother of two boys, she understands the importance of providing families with a clean, safe environment for children to explore. Read below for details on all the ways your children can have fun in this beautiful, new playroom.
Our Review of Playroom Cafe Two in Naperville
The main play area of Playroom Cafe Two has a LOT to explore. For more active kids, there is a large wooden climbing structure which includes ladders, rock walls and slides. Ride-along cars, a see-saw, and a few up-and-down coasters give kids even more ways to burn off extra energy.
For those more interested in imaginative play, there’s an adorable grocery store and restaurant, as well as a dress-up area and play house.
Perfect for the littlest ones is a baby and toddler area. This enclosed space featured developmentally appropriate toys to move, shake and explore. It also included a small foam climbing mat for those who are learning to crawl and walk. My son loved pulling himself up on it and cruising along the side of it.
In the corner, you’ll find a giant ball pit that can be accessed through a side wall, or by going down a large slide. With all white balls and a wall full of windows behind it, this may be the prettiest ball pit we’ve ever seen.
Food at Playroom Cafe Two
While Playroom Cafe Two does not allow any outside food or beverages, they have a full-service coffee bar, smoothies, panini, and salads, as well as a kids’ menu. Here’s a link to their current menu. All food and drinks must remain out of the play space at all times.
Restrooms and Accommodations
Along with regular bathrooms, there is a nursing room available that is also equipped with a changing table.
Hours and Pricing
Playroom Cafe Two is open Monday – Thursday from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm and Friday – Sunday from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm. Pricing varies between $8–15 based on the age of your child the day of the week. Confirm the hours and cost before visiting.
They also host parties, which include access to their party room. This space is right next to the play area, making it easy for party guests to get in and out.
Recommended Ages
The playroom is recommended for children around 5 years of age and younger, with height and weight restrictions on the play structure. Looking at the main play area, I would say that any child who is fully mobile would have a great time here. My 4-year old could play for hours and would love having her 2-3 year old friends there, too.
There’s also a separate baby and toddler area, and my newly-turned one-year-old loved exploring this space.
