Run for the Zoo
June 8, 7:30 am - 10:30 am
$29.99 – $120.98Now in its 47th year, Run for the Zoo is a beloved family-friendly tradition that supports Lincoln Park Zoo, the nation’s only privately managed free-admission zoo. Every race registration and fundraising page helps the zoo save species near and far and keeps this urban oasis free and open to the public, 365 days a year.
The race route is suitable for all experience levels. It features a flat, scenic route that winds in and around the zoo, allowing for beautiful views of Chicago’s skyline, Lake Michigan, protected natural areas, and zoo habitats.
Ambitious athletes can compete in the chip-timed 5K and 10K courses, which are USA Track & Field-certified. Both runners and walkers are welcome, and young participants (ages 3–8) can take on the Kids’ Course, a fun obstacle course built to get kids running, climbing, and crawling!
Whether you’re a veteran runner or a parent with young ones, there’s a place for you at Run for the Zoo. It’s a fun and rewarding way to contribute directly towards animal care, conservation efforts, and education initiatives that help animals both locally and around the world.
