Glow in the Park Lantern Walk

Light up the night at the Glow in the Park Lantern Walk in support of Lurie Children’s! The festivities kick off with a variety of pre-walk entertainment, including live music, face painting, and inflatables. At 7:20 pm, the centerpiece of the night begins as guests are invited to carry their own glowing paper lanterns in a procession around the lake. Lantern kits may be purchased at the Main Street Recreation Center from August 3 through September 4 to be decorated at home, or purchased on-site the night of the event for $15 (cash only, while supplies last). Each kit includes a paper lantern shade, a carrying stick, and an LED light. Adding to the excitement this year, the District’s 2K Glow Run/Walk will also take place at Lake Ellyn Park starting at 7:45 pm (registration is required for the 2K; fees apply). Admission to Glow in the Park is free, though cash donations for Lurie Children's are encouraged.
