World Lion Day
August 8, 10:30 am - 1:00 pm
FreeOn Thursday, August 8, the zoo celebrates World Lion Day (August 10) with a slate of activities designed to help you learn about these fantastic felines. Between 10:30–11 a.m., arrive at Pepper Family Wildlife Center to watch the African lions receive special enrichment! This special event will be narrated by staff.
At 10:30 a.m., the Chicago Public Library will be hosting a storytime, and from 11 a.m.–noon you can check out the Where’s Wildlife? activity station. From 12–1 p.m., Guest Engagement staff will facilitate an intriguing lion chat. Be sure to Adopt an Animal while you’re here! If you’re unable to be at the zoo, you can sign into zoolife to check out a virtual lion chat at 10:30 a.m.
