Winter Break Wonderland
When school’s out, the wonder moves in! Winter Break Wonderland brings an extra flurry of fun to DCM. Glide, twirl, and giggle your way across DCM’s indoor sock skating rink—where the ice never melts, and the fun never ends! Explore more frosty-themed activities that mix movement, imagination, and learning.
It’s the coolest kind of winter fun—no coats, mittens, or shoveling required:
- Sock Skating Rink – Slip, spin, and slide in your socks!
- Cocoa Counter – Stir up sweet “cocoa” creations while exploring math and measurement.
- Mini Zamboni Table – Smooth “ice” shavings and sweep away “snow” just like a real rink crew!
- Pop-Up Snowball Fun – Put the laws of motion to the test with buckets of “snowballs.”
- Ice Block Building – Build and balance with “blocks of ice.”
- Ribbons & Winter Wings – Add flair to your skating performance!
- Winter Book Nook – Cozy up for a story time escape.
- Mini Snow Forts – Build big with buckets of snowy bricks.
- Iceberg Float – Experiment with arctic animals and buoyancy.
- Winter Smells Station – Follow your nose through chocolate, cinnamon, and gingerbread.
- Blizzard Scarves & Snowballs – Let scarves and soft snowballs swirl through the air.
- Snow Box – Scoop, plow, and play in fluffy pretend snow.
- Cozy Cabin Respite Area – Take a break under the Northern Lights or gather by the campfire play space.
At DCM, kids are inspired to be curious, creative, and full of wonder. Designed for children ages 0–10 years, the Museum invites families to explore hands-on exhibits where learning happens through play. From babies crawling through soft play spaces to young inventors problem solving in engineering exhibits, there’s something to captivate and engage every age.
