We are thrilled to partner with the Maywood Park District to host the Glen Ellyn Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s Ujamaa Kwanzaa Festival!

This exciting event will take place on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the Maywood Park District, located at 921 S. 9th Ave, Maywood, IL, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The Ujamaa Festival celebrates Black-owned businesses by showcasing their exceptional products and services, while also fostering community, culture, and commerce during the holiday season. Highlights will include performances by African drummers and dancers, a live DJ, and a variety of local vendors. In addition, we will be distributing fresh produce boxes and warm winter wear (hats, gloves, scarves, and socks) for youth ages 7-17.

We have partnered with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois as a community sponsor to provide fresh produce for the community.

This event is open to all, and volunteers will have the opportunity to receive giveaway items before they are made available to the general public.
