Summer Solstice Soiree
June 21, 2023, 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm
FreeCelebrate all things summer on the longest day of the year! Guests are invited to enjoy the preserve during evening hours, hike the shoreline trail, relax by the bonfire and explore the outdoor summer exhibit.
Every half hour, an interpretive naturalist will give a five-minute talk on the traditions of the solstice, local pollinators, a brief history of the island and animals found in the preserve. In honor of Pollinator Week, guests are invited to enjoy a light picnic with foods that wouldn’t grow without the work of pollinators! Feel free to bring blankets or camping chairs to use around the bonfire.
