St. Lucia Celebration
December 13, 4:45 pm - 8:00 pm
December 13th is Lucia Day in Sweden and we celebrate along with our Andersonville neighbors for this festive neighborhood event. This day honors St. Lucia, who was known for her generous spirit. Children dress up as St. Lucia, wearing crowns of candles and singing throughout the neighborhood, and someone will be crowned this year’s Lucia. At the Museum, we will have a performance by our Lucia candidates and a procession on Clark Street by all St. Lucia participants, including children playing the part of Star Boys as well. This is one of the most special neighborhood holiday traditions.
4:45 p.m. Procession starts at the Museum and goes to Catalpa Ave.
5 p.m. Performance at the Christmas Tree on Catalpa
7 p.m. Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 1650 W. Foster Ave.
