Lava Island

South Asian Perspective Workshop

Saturday, January 25, 2025 · 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM

Join us for a fun and creative activity inspired by the art of Grishma Shah, a painter who shares her story through her paintings. Grishma’s art explores how we see beauty, disability, and different identities. In this program, we’ll think about how our bodies change, what beauty means to us, and talk about how we treat others. Through art, talking, and reflecting, we’ll explore how we can be kinder and more accepting of everyone, no matter what they look like. Children will create artwork that celebrates the beautiful parts of themselves—both the inner qualities that never change and the external traits that may change over time. Come join us for an inspiring and fun time where we’ll learn to see the world in new ways! While this program is designed for attendees of all ages, children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Registration required.
