Nature Discovery Day: Beetle Mania

Explore the world of beetles during our free summer nature discovery days! With over 400,00 species of beetle found worldwide, beetles have been around since the age of the dinosaurs. From ladybugs to fireflies and weevils to dung beetles, investigate these amazing insects that make up 40% of all insect species. Play hands on matching games, discover beetle life stages, learn how beetles communicate, find out what plants beetles help pollinate, make a fun beetle craft, read beetle books, go on an outdoor scavenger hunt and more during this family-oriented program. Please note: No live animals will be present during this program.

• Designed for families with children ages 4-11, but all ages welcome.

• Free drop-in program

• Self-guided activity stations

• No registration required

• At least one adult must attend with each family

• Held in the River Room (classroom)
