Merry and Bright – Lighting the Tree
This year’s Merry & Bright Tree Lighting
Starts with a STROLL!
Date & Time: Saturday, 12/6, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Place: Bartlett Park, Oak Avenue & North Avenue
4:30 p.m. – Everyone is invited to assemble in the METRA lot on Oneida & Eastern for a “Stroll to the North Pole,” which will step off at 4:45 p.m.
5 p.m. – Santa and “strollers” will arrive at Bartlett Park, where Santa will go up in the bucket truck to light the tree first thing.
5:30 to 7:30 p.m. – After Santa lights the tree, he will head to the Log Cabin to see children and hear their special wishes. Bring your camera to take photos of your little ones. Also, help the Lions help those less fortunate by bringing a non-perishable food item for the Hanover Township Food Pantry.
6:30 p.m. – come to the gazebo for a special storytime with Bartlett Public Library staff
5 to 7:30 p.m. – there will be plenty of time to enjoy carols and music from the South Elgin High School choir and a DJ; meet and greet Wicked’s Glinda & Elphaba, as well as Jack Skellington & Sally from the Nightmare Before Christmas; take a ride in the horse-drawn wagon; stop by one of the food trucks for a bite to eat; and officially kickoff Merry & Bright in Bartlett!
