Fire Department Open House
The Lombard Fire Department is inviting residents to attend its annual community open house on Wednesday, October 8, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fire Station 45, located at 50 E. St. Charles Rd. The event is held in support of National Fire Prevention Week, which runs from October 5–11, 2025.
This free, family-friendly event offers residents the chance to meet Lombard Firefighters and Paramedics, watch live demonstrations, and explore Fire and EMS vehicles used in emergency response. This year’s open house will also feature the department’s new fire engine, giving residents the opportunity to see the latest addition to Lombard’s fleet up close.
The 2025 Fire Prevention Week theme, “Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home!”, focuses on educating residents about the safe use of lithium-ion batteries. The campaign emphasizes the importance of buying, charging, and recycling these batteries safely.
