Hinsdale Fire and Police Open House

October 11, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
Free

Join us on Saturday, October 11 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Hinsdale Fire and Police Departments (121 Symonds Dr.) for the annual Fire & Police Open House!

This year’s theme is “Charge into Fire Safety™: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home,” with demonstrations and tips on safe use, charging, and recycling. Families can enjoy a variety of hands-on activities, including a Junior Firefighter Obstacle Course, 911 Call Simulator, Safety House presentation, and a live fire demonstration. Kids can also help welcome the Fire Department’s brand-new fire engine with the time-honored tradition of “pushing it” into the firehouse.

On the Police side, kids will receive a special Passbook to collect stamps from vendors and then choose a fun giveaway prize. Visitors can also check out SWAT, Bomb Squad, CSI equipment, drones, and more.

In addition, Fox Valley Fire and Safety will provide free fire extinguisher checks (limit three per person), and hot dogs, refreshments, music, and giveaways will be available throughout the day.

Bring the family for a fun and educational afternoon with Hinsdale’s firefighters and police officers!
