Healing the Broken Hoop (Lakota Art & Dance Performance)
Step into the rich heritage of the Lakota people in this unique program that combines hands-on artmaking with a powerful display of traditional Native American dance.
Begin your journey by learning the art of Lakota necklace making, where participants of all ages can craft their own piece using traditional materials and patterns that hold deep symbolic meaning. Then, experience the mesmerizing beauty of a Lakota hoop dance performance ft. Starr Chief Eagle.
We are so thankful to the Elmwood Park Neighborhood Civic Organization for sponsoring this program that is very near and dear to our hearts. This program was in jeopardy until Library Board Trustee Pete Fosco stepped out of the meeting and then returned with a commitment from the Elmwood Park Neighborhood Civic Organization to sponsor the event.
All ages are welcome; registration required.
