Gourd to Ground Pumpkin Smash
Bring your pumpkins or jack-o-lanterns to our first-ever pumpkin smash! The Nature Center is partnering with Urban Canopy to turn your old Halloween pumpkins into compost! Stick around to check out a worm composting bin, make a craft from recycled materials, and meet our Nature Center animals. This event is free and no registration is required.
How does a pumpkin smash work? It’s easy! Just bring any pumpkins or squash that you no longer want, and we will have a place for you to toss them, or if you would like, you can smash them yourselves! Urban Canopy will then take them all back to add to their composting operation! It’s a great way to get rid of your pumpkins after Halloween without having them end up in a landfill.
Please note, pumpkins must not have additional items on them such as excess paint, glitter, googly eyes, or candles.
