Dia de Muertos
Día de los Muertos in Oak Park & River Forest is a grassroots event organized by community members who love the culture and seek to uplift the comUNIDAD, with the generous support and sponsorship of the Village of Oak Park, private businesses, the Oak Park Library, Oak Park Township, the Collaboration for Early Childhood, and many others.
Día de Muertos/Day of the Dead an important celebration that originated in Mexico, is rooted in indigenous practices existing long before Spanish settlers arrived. Typically celebrated on November 1 and 2, ofrendas are made to honor, celebrate, and remember the dearly departed.
Please note this community partner event will take place in Scoville Square & Scoville Park, 800 W. Lake St., Oak Park.
