Chanukah Menorah Lighting and Celebration
December 7, 2023, 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
FreeWith so much darkness facing the world today, let’s make a difference by illuminating the world with light and peace.
Join us to experience the light of Hanukkah on Thurs. Dec. 7 at 5:30 p.m. at Fountain Square in Evanston
The entire Evanston community is invited to gather at 5:30pm on Thursday December 7, to celebrate Hanukkah and ignite a public 10 foot menorah erected at Fountain Square. The celebration will feature greetings from Evanston Mayor Daniel Biss and Police Chief Schanita Stewart. The celebration will include live music, a LED robot dancer, balloon artist and Hanukkah treats.
Evanston’s menorah is one of more than 15,000 large public menorahs sponsored by Chabad in more than 100 countries around the world, including in front of landmarks such as the White House, the Eiffel Tower, and this year throughout Ukraine, helping children and adults of all walks of life discover and enjoy the holiday message.
