Ben Allison Park Playground Ribbon Cutting

FreeCome play with us as we celebrate the new playground at Ben Allison Park! The park was redeveloped this summer and will be ready to make its debut. Attend the ribbon cutting and be one of the first to try out the new playground!
The District regularly replaces playground equipment based on lifecycle, use, and condition. Based upon the District’s existing schedule and its overall condition, Ben Allison Park was up for redevelopment this year.
Feedback was gathered last year from the community through in-person and online surveys, as well as during a Party in the Park input meeting. A master plan was then approved by the Park Board in November 2022.
The new playground features an area for 2-5 year olds and 5-12 year olds, new bench seating and swings, including a friendship swing. A fly wheel spinner and omnispin spinner will give kids opportunities to spin together.
Near the crosswalk, a new access point was constructed to provide a safer crossing than the previous mid-block pathway.
