Western Springs Drive-In Movie Details

Professional sound equipment is being brought in to make it possible to listen to the movie audio through your car radio. The drive-in movie will transmit sound via FM Transmitter. We recommend bringing your own radio from home if you do not want to use your vehicle’s FM radio because radios will not be available for rental onsite.

The movie will start at approximately 8:30 pm on July 17, 2020. We suggest arriving early to get settled in your parking spot. The maximum number of vehicles allowed is 50 to safely utilize the parking spaces at Spring Rock park. The Western Springs Park District will open the Lower Parking Lot on the west side of the park by the baseball fields at 7:00 pm and only vehicles with a pre-paid registration will be allowed to enter.

Logistics

A lot of thought and time has gone into planning a safe and fun experience for everyone, so please be aware of the logistics.

  • All employees and volunteers have been educated and trained on maintaining a social distance of at least six feet between themselves and others when possible. All employees will be wearing hi-visibility vests/shirts, and also gloves and facemasks. They will assist with directions to your parking spot, to the restroom, and exiting.
  • You must stay within the confines of your vehicle as much as possible. You may sit in the bed of your truck or in the back of a SUV/van.
  • No pets allowed.

Using the Bathrooms

The Western Springs Park District realizes that you may need to use the restroom. Portable bathroom units and hand washing stations will be on site. Please wear your face mask or face covering when using the bathroom.

Food at the Drive-In

There will not be concessions available, but each vehicle will receive a prepackaged popcorn when entering the parking lot. You can also get takeout or curbside from one of our wonderful local restaurants. Alcohol is not allowed.
