6 Easy Ways to Support Kidlist

Annie Tandy, our fearless leader, started Kidlist out of Western Springs way back in 2011, when she had two little ones. She’s a natural list-maker (have you seen her camping checklist?!) and wanted to share her own research on local fun with other families. Though our team has grown, that’s still the heart of what we do!

If you’re not familiar with our team, we’re a group of nine women who live all around the suburbs, including Naperville, Oak Park, Bloomingdale, Lemont, and La Grange Park. Our kids range from itty bitty babies to teens.

Kidlist exists because of you! Thank you so much for your support throughout the years. We enjoy covering the west and southwest suburbs and love your kind words. It keeps us going! Some of you have even asked how you can give back… Here are a few easy things you can do (that don’t cost anything!).

Connect with us.

They may not feel like a big deal, but all those likes, comments, shares, and tags online make a huge difference for a small business like us.

First of all, we really do feel the love when our neighbors like what we’ve done. But it’s also how we’re able to give you inside deals, announce fun events, and keep the site going. It helps our advertisers see that our readers are engaged and awesome.

So if you like what you see on social media, don’t be shy! We love to see other local families using the resources we create, too. Tag us in pics of your family fun on Instagram (@kidlist) so we can see what you’re up to.

On Facebook, we share our latest content, plus occasional other articles we think you’ll enjoy. Instagram is where we share what we’re up to around town.

Spread the word.

If you find Kidlist helpful, let other local parents and caregivers in on the fun! We think they’ll find the things we share helpful and inspiring, too.

Get on the list.

Our email list is probably the best way to stay in touch! You’ll get an email either when content is available so you don’t miss anything or once per week with everything from the week in one email. And your email is safe with us: we don’t share or sell your contact info.

If you stop by any of our sponsors, thank them for supporting Kidlist!

Tip us off.

Drop us a tip if there’s a fun new park, indoor playground, or kid-favorite spot near you. We read all your comments are are happy to hear if we miss a spot. We are all in this together!

Make a request.

We love hearing from you and take requests! We have even been known to quickly turn around an article or populate a list after receiving a question or request. We enjoy hearing your ideas!

Those of us who work on Kidlist are always so appreciative of the supportive, amazing community of moms, dads, grandparents, and caregivers who read and follow Kidlist. This site is for you, and it wouldn’t exist without you. Thank you!
