Summer Open Gyms for Kids in the Southwest Suburbs: Times and Prices

Keeping the kids entertained and active all summer is no easy task. Mix up your summer break routine (and keep the kids off electronics!) by trying out some of the many open gym sessions in the southwest suburbs this summer. Not only will kids of all ages have a blast bouncing, climbing, flipping, and swinging their way through the gym, but you’ll get to chill in the AC for a couple hours. It’s a win-win!

Aspire Gymnastics Academy

Children of all ages can come play at open gym on Fridays from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm or Sundays from 12:00 pm  – 2:00 pm. The cost is $10 per child (cash only). Gym will be closed August 11–17 for summer break.

Walking children through age 6 can enjoy open gym Monday through Thursday from 12:00 pm  – 1:00 pm; price is $5 per child. On Friday nights, kids aged 6 and up can enjoy an extended open gym from 7:15 pm  – 9:15 pm. The cost is $15 and parents are not allowed in the gym during this open gym. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged as there is limited space.

From June 1 though August 31, open gym is offered for all ages on Thursdays and Sundays from 12:00 – 2:00 pm; the fee is $12 per child. Little Tykes Time (for Kindergarten kids and younger) is held every Monday from 10:00 am – 11:30 am and is $5/child. Special needs open gym (for all ages, plus siblings) is offered on 6/23, 7/28 and 8/25 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm; fee is $12 per child.

Gymboree has a wonderful assortment of classes for babies from birth until 5 years old. This location offers open gym several times during the week. The cost is $10 for non-members, and FREE for members.
