It’s the 30th anniversary of Nike Air Max and young athletes (ages 6-12) are invited to the free CHI Air Workshop on Saturday, March 25, 2017. The event will consist of 5 air-themed science experiments that use hoverboards and air cannons to teach kids about Nike Air technology and innovation. The new Air Max Zero will be unveiled and the kids can participate in two physical activities to try them: a vertical jump test… and the other is a surprise!
CHI Air Workshop is will take place at the Nike+ Chicago Studio at 675 N. Michigan Avenue. The event is free, but you need to reserve your child’s spot at gonike.me/chiair. A couple of the time slots have filled already, so be sure to secure one before they are gone!
Xcel 2 Fitness, a program for 3rd-5th grade boys, has been working with Nike and was invited to the CHI Air Workshop too.
Xcel 2 Fitness is a non-profit organization that uses the fundamentals of fitness to develop character and confidence through fun speed/agility, balance, strength, and cardio challenges while teaching the importance of teamwork, leadership, and goal setting in an exciting team based atmosphere. This program is growing quickly across the country and became available to local schools in the western suburbs of Chicago last spring.
There are currently four schools with Xcel 2 Fitness programs including Field Park and Laidlaw in Western Springs, Fabyan School in Geneva, and Glenside Middle School in Glendale Heights. You can request that this program be brought to your school as well!
