The MAC presents Goodnight Moon & The Runaway Bunny

I think the perfect way to introduce your child to the theatre is to bring them to a short and sweet performance of a story they’ve heard many times before. What books would fit the (play) bill better than Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny? With these calming stories and a performance geared toward Pre-K children and up, the theatre will become a place that you and your child can create wonderful memories and begin a special parent/child tradition. With tickets as low as $8 a person, it’s a budget-friendly way to enjoy a chilly morning!

Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia presents Goodnight Moon & The Runaway Bunny at Glen Ellyn’s McAninch Arts Center, located at 425 Fawell Blvd., Thursday, Feb. 11 at 9:45 a.m. (sold out) and 11:30 a.m. as part of Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia 2015-16 U.S./Canada Tour. A celebration of classic stories, Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia uses their trademark elements of innovative puppetry, striking scenic effects, and evocative original music for an entertaining and engaging theater experience using adaptations of two stories by Margaret Wise Brown. Goodnight Moon is a celebration of familiar nighttime rituals, while The Runaway Bunny’s pretend tale of leaving home evokes reassuring responses from his loving mother. These performances are geared towards Pre-K through 2nd grade.

About the Author

Liz Haskins
Liz is a mom of three equally active and adorable sons, aged six, eight and twelve. As a child, her family moved to Western Springs from Central Illinois, and she and her husband are thrilled to raise their own family here. She works two days a week as a medical assistant, so she tries to fill her time with the boys outside of school with activities that they can all enjoy. This winter, they’ve enjoyed swimming at a few indoor pools, and the boys love going to zoos and children’s museums. In the summer they love to do anything outdoors; they try to hit a different park every week! Their go-to for indoor days are open play spaces that have a range of activities to accommodate her children’s age differences. Outside of being a mom and working, Liz’s passions are photography, reading, and, as an extrovert, she loves meeting new people and connecting over mutual interests.
