Kids’ Free Days at Brookfield Zoo

Those looking for one last adventure before the kids start the new school year can head to Brookfield Zoo and receive FREE admission for children ages 11 and under on August 10, 11, and 12, 2015. (Admission for adults and parking fees still apply.)

Families that have not been able to visit the zoo this summer can still see some of the seasonal attractions before they fly and flutter away on September 7. The free 30-minute Festival of Flight bird show, which is offered three times a day, features a variety of birds from around the world demonstrating their free-flight natural behaviors and involved audience participation. And the zoo’s Butterflies! exhibit houses hundreds of North American winged wonders, including monarchs, painted ladies, southern whites, and swallowtails, in a beautifully landscaped habitat that has a water feature and a variety of regional grasses and flowering plants.

In addition, Brookfield Zoo’s newest exhibit, Hamill Family Wild Encounters, geared toward guests of all ages, offers unforgettable hands-on experiences that include opportunities to touch and feed animals, including parakeets and goats. There guests also can enjoy up-close views of red pandas, wallabies, llamas, reindeer, and some of the zoo’s ambassador animals.

On Kids’ Free Days, Brookfield Zoo is open from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission for adults is $16.95 and $11.95 for seniors 65 and over. Parking is $10. For further information, visit
